On Friday, October 25th, Brown Local School employees participated in an extensive school safety training session led by the Ohio School Safety Center (OSSC). The training involved collaborative participation from the Great Trail Fire District and the Carroll County Sheriff's Office.
The OSSC led a full day of exercises focused on active threat response, including school-specific training, team breakout sessions, and a tabletop safety drill. This hands-on training aligns with Brown Local Schools' commitment to prioritize safety for students and staff.
Established on August 21, 2019, by Governor Mike DeWine, the OSSC supports Ohio schools and local first responders in preventing, preparing for, and responding to potential threats, including acts of violence and self-harm.
