It is a Great Day to be a Malvern Hornet!
Brown Local Schools Celebrates the Groundbreaking of the Malvern Community Learning and Wellness Center!
Brown Local Schools and Aultman Health will partner to open a school-based Malvern Community Learning and Wellness Center thanks to $3,514,100 in grant funding, which is part of Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine’s ongoing investment in Ohio’s Appalachian communities.
In partnership with Aultman Health, the Brown Local School District will build a 6,880-square-foot Community Learning and Wellness Center to provide comprehensive services, including access to healthcare, mental health, addiction, and recovery services, CARE Team Services, and physical fitness opportunities for staff and community members. The wellness center will operate on weekdays, year-round. Students will be prioritized, but the center will be able to serve staff while allowing access to the broader community.
The Malvern Community Learning and Wellness Center will include a school-operated preschool classroom to increase high-quality early learning services to the Malvern Community. The project will also include a leadership and career lab to serve the school district and the community for leadership and workforce development.
FMD Architects, located in Fairlawn, has been selected as the Architect, while Beaver Constructors is the project's Construction Manager.
The Center will open in August of 2025
