What to watch: Malvern couldn’t establish the run or stop the run in a humbling 41-8 loss at Garaway, but the Hornets are a heavy favorites this week as they begin defense of their IVC North title. … The last time Strasburg gave Malvern a fight was in a 33-26 loss in 2019. Since then, the Hornets have won 34-12, 41-6, 42-0 and 49-6. … Strasburg is trying for its best record since the 2017 team went 4-6, with a double-overtime loss to Malvern. … The best record since then was 3-7 last year, when Jimm Morris took over as head coach. … Brodie Hurst has done some good things in his first year as Strasburg's QB. … In Rodney Smith’s four best receiving games for Malvern, he has 450 yards and eight TDs. Even Garaway’s vaunted defense gave up four catches for 94 yards and a TD to the 6-2 senior. ... The Garaway game left Malvern at a psychological/emotional crossroads two weeks out from a showdown against Newcomerstown.

The Malvern Hornets Golf Team had a great week of IVC Postseason Tournaments. Lauren Brown finished tied for 6th and Kami Rayborn finished tied for 11th on Tuesday shooting a 79 and 87!
The team finished 6th overall yesterday shooting a 343 led by Junior Cam Good shooting a 79.
