🏈Congratulations to Malvern High School's All-Ohio Football Players

Malvern High School had an outstanding football season, finishing with an impressive 11-2 record, winning the IVC North Championship, and reaching the regional semi-finals.

Several Malvern Hornet Football players were recognized for their extraordinary performances, earning All-Ohio honors in Division VII:

⭐Rodney Smith:

Named First-Team Offense as a wide receiver, Smith had a phenomenal senior season.

He led all area receivers with 68 receptions for 1,244 yards and 18 touchdowns, making him the only Stark County-area player to surpass 1,000 receiving yards.

Scored 20 total touchdowns, including two 2-point conversions, and finished with 124 points.

Excelled on defense, leading the area with six interceptions (two returned for touchdowns) and contributing 37 tackles.

Also served as the team’s punter, averaging 34.5 yards per attempt.

Smith was named Eastern District Co-Offensive Player of the Year alongside teammate Jared Witherow.

⭐Jared Witherow: Earned Second-Team Offense honors at quarterback following a stellar senior season. Witherow completed 71.1% of his passes for 2,742 yards, 30 touchdowns, and only nine interceptions while adding four rushing touchdowns.

Witherow was a key leader for the Hornets, previously a First-Team All-Ohio selection.

⭐Brandon Miller:

He was recognized as a Second-Team Offense selection for his contributions on the offensive line.

⭐Drake Hutchison (LB), Owen Ball (LB), Julius Gore (RB), Roy Simmons(WR), Darnell Jackson(OL):

All named All Ohio Honorable Mention- demonstrating the excellent team depth and contributions from various positions for the Hornets!

The All-Ohio teams, chosen by the Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association, celebrate the state's best high school football players. Malvern’s players demonstrated leadership and excellence both on and off the field.
